We bought three of these buffet servers about a year ago and mainly used for holiday entertaining. They work together very large to operate in a buffet. The buffet server is well built and looks great. The large side handles on the tray heating and 8 Qt. Buffet pan to avoid burning yourself, but take a little extra counter space. The metal parts of the QT 8. Buffet pan and 2 Qt. Server bowls can be washed in a dishwasher, but we wash by hand the heating tray and plasticcover.
We found that temperatures are warming to the subject checks ok, but not very precise, to the maximum setting temperature on the heating surface of the tray is about 250F. The server works better with food, served in liquid or liquid (soups, stews, pies, etc.). We found that the food served "dry" (without sauce, sliced, fried fish, fried pot stickers, especially french fries, vegetables steamed and drained) grown in dry, as in the sit-2Qt. Buffet dishes for a long period. Sometimes we use the warming tray to serve hot items directly from our Corning Ware. You can also use this server as a tray of "steam" from 8 Qt. A tip end, control the heating of the tray before you want to use. We found that the warming tray has a slight odor when first used, but the smell is gone, if used a second time. BeforePurchase of this model, we bought a bar of different brand and found that the temperature would only work to the highest setting. We will return the brand that the store and bought this model instead. We are satisfied with the tablet and we recommend it.
